Robbie Bryant wins Sean Connery Prize
Thursday, 5 September 2024

Huge congratulations to award-winning cinematographer Robbie Bryant whose film The Ceremony won the prestigious Sean Connery Prize at this year's Edinburgh International Film Festival.  Robbie, who was hailed by the British Cinematographer Magazine as part of the 'New Wave of 2021', was a pupil at the Cathedral school between 1999 and 2004.  Robbie's father, Terry (Bryant), also attended the school!

As well as The Ceremony, a film about two migrant workers who find themselves thrown together in a quest to bury a body, Robbie has also worked on the likes of Harry Potter, Captain America and James Bond.  Our President, James Davies, (pictured with Robbie at the world premiere of the last 007 adventure, No Time To Die), said: "What an incredible achievement.  The Society is very proud of Robbie and all he has achieved during his illustrious career.  He's a great example of where hard work, determination and resilience can take you.  We all very much look forward to seeing what Robbie does next."

Great work, Robbie.
